Privacy Policy

HomeInsureCalc privacy policy. We don't collect, store, or transmit your personal data. All calculations run locally in your browser.

Last updated: June 2026

1. Introduction

HomeInsureCalc ("we," "our," "us") operates homeinsurecalc.com ("the Site"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you visit or use our Site. We are committed to transparency and protecting your privacy.

Short version: We don't collect personal data. All calculations happen in your browser. No accounts, no tracking pixels, no data sales.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

We collect nothing. HomeInsureCalc does not have user accounts, login forms, newsletter signups, or contact forms that transmit personal data to our servers.

If you choose to email us voluntarily (via the Contact page), you may share your email address and message content. We use that information solely to respond to your inquiry and do not add you to marketing lists unless you explicitly opt in.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

2.3 Browser-Local Storage

Our calculators use your browser's localStorage to save your inputs and previous calculations locally on your device. This data never leaves your browser. It can be cleared at any time via your browser settings without affecting Site functionality.

3. How We Use Information

PurposeData Used
Respond to email inquiriesName, email, message (voluntarily provided)
Display advertisementsAdSense contextual targeting (controlled by Google)
Save calculator preferences locallyYour input values in localStorage (device-only)
Improve Site performanceAggregated, anonymized server metrics (no PII)

4. Information Sharing

We do not sell, trade, rent, or give away your personal information to third parties. Ever.

The limited exceptions:

5. Data Security

Since we do not collect or store personal data on our servers, there is virtually no risk of a data breach affecting your personal information. Your calculator inputs stay in your browser's localStorage. We recommend keeping your browser and operating system up to date for general security.

6. Third-Party Links

Our Site contains links to external websites (e.g., FEMA, III, NAIC, state Department of Insurance). Clicking these links takes you off our Site. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those external sites and encourage you to read their privacy policies.

7. Children's Privacy

HomeInsureCalc is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.

8. Your Rights (for Users in Regulated Jurisdictions)

8.1 California Residents (CCPA)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act: we do not "sell" personal information as defined by CCPA because we do not collect personal information in the first place. You may still contact us at 18999737@qq.com with privacy-related questions.

8.2 European Union (GDPR)

We do not process personal data of EU residents beyond what Google AdSense may process independently. There is no data controller relationship between HomeInsureCalc and individual visitors regarding personal data processing.

8.3 Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Other U.S. States

Similar to CCPA: since we do not collect or process personal data, most consumer data rights statutes do not impose obligations on us. However, we respect your privacy and will respond to good-faith inquiries.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Changes are posted on this page with an updated "Last revised" date. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

10. Contact Us

Privacy questions? Email us at 18999737@qq.com or visit our Contact page.

11. Cookies in Detail

A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store. HomeInsureCalc itself sets no first-party tracking cookies. The only cookies our domain places are strictly necessary for display preferences (such as your dark-mode choice), handled through localStorage rather than cookies. Advertising cookies, if any, are set by Google AdSense on its own domain.

12. Advertising Personalization & Your Choices

Google AdSense may serve personalized or non-personalized ads based on your ad settings and applicable law. You can control personalized advertising through Google's Ads Settings, and you can opt out of personalized ads from participating networks via the Network Advertising Initiative and Digital Advertising Alliance. In regions such as the EEA and UK, Google obtains consent before setting advertising cookies.

13. Data Retention

Because we collect almost nothing, there is little to retain:

14. International Data Transfers

HomeInsureCalc is operated for a U.S. audience. If you visit from outside the United States, your connection necessarily passes through infrastructure (our CDN and, where applicable, Google's ad network) that may process data in the U.S. or other countries. By using the Site, you consent to this transfer as governed by this Policy and applicable law.

15. Automated Decision-Making & Profiling

We do not perform automated decision-making about you, and we do not build behavioral profiles for marketing. Our calculators perform math on inputs you provide; they do not make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about any visitor.

16. Do Not Track

Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. Because we set no tracking cookies and run no first-party analytics, DNT has no functional effect on HomeInsureCalc itself. Third-party ad networks may respond to DNT per their own policies.

17. Security Incident Notification

We do not store personal data on our servers, so a traditional data breach exposing your information is not possible through HomeInsureCalc. If a vulnerability in the underlying hosting or an upstream service were ever to affect the Site, we would post a notice on this page and, where required by law, notify affected users through the contact information they voluntarily provided.

18. How to Exercise Your Privacy Rights

To ask a question or request action regarding your privacy:

  1. Email 18999737@qq.com with the subject "Privacy Request."
  2. Describe what you would like β€” confirmation of our practices, deletion of an email thread, or a correction.
  3. Allow up to 30 days for a response, as permitted by applicable law.

Because we hold no personal data beyond voluntary email, most requests are resolved by confirming this fact and, where relevant, deleting the correspondence.

19. Privacy Contact

Privacy questions, concerns, or requests can be sent to 18999737@qq.com or through our Contact page. We review privacy correspondence regularly and update this Policy when practices change.

20. Children's Data Deletion Procedure

Although the Site is not directed at children, if you believe a child under 13 has sent us an email, contact us at 18999737@qq.com and we will delete the correspondence promptly. Because we hold no accounts or profiles, there is no additional record to remove.

21. Consent & the Ad Cookie Banner

In regions that require it (such as the EEA and UK), Google's funding choices or ad framework presents a consent banner before advertising cookies are set. Where such a banner appears, you can accept or reject non-essential ad cookies. Your choice is respected on return visits. In regions without that requirement, advertising cookies follow Google's standard policies, which you can override in Google Ad Settings.

22. Access, Correction & Deletion Summary

To summarize your rights in one place: you may request confirmation of our data practices, ask us to delete any email you sent, and opt out of personalized advertising at any time. Because HomeInsureCalc stores no personal data on its own servers, most of these requests are fulfilled simply by confirming that fact. We will never make the exercise of a privacy right a condition of using the calculators.

23. Analytics & Measurement Philosophy

We deliberately avoid first-party analytics that profile visitors. We do not run session-replay scripts, fingerprinting, or behavioral tracking, because they would contradict the privacy-first design of the Site. The only measurement we accept is aggregated, anonymized infrastructure metrics from our hosting provider, used solely to keep the Site fast and available. No individual is identified by these metrics, and they are never shared for advertising.

24. Data We Explicitly Do Not Collect

For absolute clarity, the following are not collected by HomeInsureCalc: your name (unless you email it), home address, mortgage or financial account details, government identifiers, credit information, photographs you upload, or any calculator inputs (those stay in your browser). We have no forms that transmit this data to a server, and the Site has no account system that could store it. If a future feature required such data, this Policy would be updated and consent obtained before collection.

25. Children & Verified Deletion

Although the Site is not directed at children, we take minor-privacy seriously. If a parent believes a child under thirteen has contacted us, email 18999737@qq.com and we will delete the correspondence. With no accounts or server-stored profiles, there is no additional record to remove, so deletion is immediate and complete.

26. Subprocessors & Service Providers

For completeness, the limited external services that may process data when you use the Site are Google AdSense (advertising) and our hosting and CDN provider (request delivery). Each operates under its own privacy policy and applicable law; we do not share personal data with them beyond what their function requires. We do not use separate analytics, CRM, or email-marketing subprocessors, which is why our data footprint stays minimal. If we ever add a service that could process personal data, this Policy will be updated and, where required, your consent obtained before it begins.
