Frequently Asked Contact Questions
Do you provide insurance quotes?
No. HomeInsureCalc provides estimates only, based on publicly available average rate data and industry-standard formulas. We are not an insurance company, agency, or broker. For binding quotes, please contact a licensed insurance agent or use your insurer's quoting system.
Can you recommend specific insurance companies?
We do not endorse or recommend any particular carrier. Our tools help you estimate costs and compare coverage levels so you can make informed decisions when shopping for policies.
How do I request a data correction?
Email 18999737@qq.com with: (1) the page/URL where the error appears, (2) the incorrect value, (3) the correct value with source citation, and (4) your name and affiliation (optional). We review all submissions quarterly.
Is there a phone number to call?
We do not offer phone support at this time. All inquiries should be sent via email to ensure accurate documentation and timely responses.

How to Write an Effective Support Request
A good request gets a faster, more useful reply. Please include:
- The page or calculator you were using (include the full URL if possible).
- The inputs you entered β approximate values are fine; they let us reproduce the result.
- What you expected versus what you saw, so we can tell whether it is a bug or a misunderstanding.
- Your browser and device if the layout or a button looked wrong.
- A source when reporting a data error β a state DOI report or NAIC table helps us verify quickly.
Example of a great report: "On the HO3 calculator, entering a $400,000 dwelling in ZIP 33101 with a $2,500 deductible returned $3,900/yr. NAIC's Florida average for that profile is closer to $4,200. Can you check the location factor?" That is actionable the same day.
Security Vulnerability Reporting
If you discover a security issue with the site, please email 18999737@qq.com with the details and steps to reproduce. Because the site is fully static and collects no personal data, the practical risk surface is small β but we still review every report and appreciate responsible disclosure.
Accessibility Feedback
We aim for WCAG 2.1 AA compliance: skip links, semantic landmarks, keyboard navigation, and a dark-mode toggle. If any page is difficult to use with a screen reader or keyboard, tell us which page and what happened, and we will prioritize a fix.
Common Reasons People Contact Us
"Your number is lower than my quote"
That is expected and useful. Our estimate uses industry medians; a specific insurer may rate your roof age, claims history, or credit differently. Bring our range to your agent and ask what is driving the gap.
"I found an outdated premium"
Send the page and a current source. We refresh state averages every year and fold verified corrections in at the next review.
"Can you add a calculator?"
We love these. Tell us which coverage and what inputs you would use. Popular requests influence our roadmap.
"I want to advertise or partner"
We work with licensed insurance educators and consumer-advocacy groups. Reach out and describe the fit.
What Happens After You Email
Knowing the lifecycle of your message removes uncertainty. Here is exactly what to expect once you press send, so you are never left wondering whether we received it:
- Within minutes: Your message lands in a monitored inbox. We do not send auto-replies by design, to avoid clutter in your inbox.
- Within 48 to 72 business hours: A team member reads it. General questions get a direct answer; data corrections get logged for the next scheduled review.
- Within 5 to 7 business days: Bug reports and calculation errors are reproduced and either fixed or explained if the current behavior is actually correct.
- Within 30 days: Verified data corrections are folded into the model, and the change date is noted on the affected page for transparency.
Great Request vs. Unhelpful Request
β A great request
Names the page, lists the inputs you used, states what you expected versus what you saw, and includes a source for any data claim. It is specific enough that we can act the same day without follow-up questions.
β An unhelpful request
Says only "your calculator is wrong" with no page, no inputs, and no source. We then have to guess what you saw, which slows everything down and often leads to a dead end.
Our Response Standards
We hold ourselves to a simple standard: every legitimate message receives a human reply, not a canned form letter. We will tell you plainly when something is outside our scope β such as interpreting the language of your personal policy β and point you to the right professional. We will never ask for your password, payment details, or government identifiers, because we never need them and collecting them would be a red flag.
If You Do Not Hear Back
Email can fail silently: a typo in an address, an overzealous spam filter, or a full inbox. If more than seven business days pass with no reply, please resend your message with the word RESEND in the subject line so it is prioritized. We would much rather you follow up than assume we ignored you.
Before You Send: A Final Check
Ask yourself one question β can the FAQ, the blog guides, or the state guides answer this faster? If yes, you will likely have your answer in seconds. If no, we are glad to hear from you, and the more specific your note, the more useful our reply will be.
What We Do With Your Email
Privacy extends to inquiries. When you write to us, the message and your address are used only to reply. We do not add you to a newsletter, we do not share the message with advertisers, and we do not use it to build a marketing profile. If a thread concludes, we keep it only long enough to act on any committed change, then delete it unless a continuing relationship is clearly established. This matches the commitments in our Privacy Policy.
Quality Expectations for Our Replies
We aim for replies that are specific, sourced, and actionable. A good reply will name the calculator or page involved, explain the relevant methodology, and point to a public source when a number is in question. A reply will also be honest about limits β if a question requires a licensed agent, we say so directly rather than guessing. We would rather tell you we cannot help than give a confident answer that misleads you about a financial decision.
Escalation & Follow-Up
If your first reply does not resolve the issue, reply to the same thread and describe what is still unclear. Complex matters such as a suspected systematic calculation error are escalated to the person who maintains that calculator. For data corrections, we will tell you whether the figure will change, why, and in which upcoming review cycle. You will not be left wondering whether your input mattered β it does.
Phone, Mail & Other Channels
We do not currently offer phone support; all handling is by email so that requests are documented and trackable. Our mailing address on the contact page is for correspondence only and not a place to obtain quotes or in-person help. If you need immediate, binding insurance decisions, a licensed agent or your state Department of Insurance β listed on our references page β is the right channel.
Our Commitment to You
HomeInsureCalc exists to make insurance costs transparent and private, and that mission extends to how we handle communication. We promise to read every message, to reply in plain language without jargon or sales pressure, and to be honest about the limits of what a free calculator can tell you. We will never use your inquiry to market to you, and we will never share it with a third party for commercial purposes. If we cannot help, we will say so and point you to someone who can. That is a small promise, but it is the kind of respect we think every tool that touches your finances should keep.
Before You Email β A 60-Second Checklist
To get the fastest, most useful reply, take a minute to prepare. First, identify which calculator or page your question is about, and have its URL open. Second, note the exact inputs you used β state, dwelling replacement cost, deductible, and coverage level β because most calculation questions are resolved by re-running with the same numbers. Third, check the FAQ and the relevant blog guide, since many questions are already answered there in depth. If you still need help, include a screenshot of the result you saw and a one-line summary of what looks wrong. A well-prepared note usually gets a same-day, specific answer; a vague one may need a follow-up round.
Typical Timeline & What to Expect
Most straightforward questions receive a reply within two business days, and many are answered the same day. Data-correction reports are reviewed against our source list on the references page; if a figure changes, we tell you the reason and the review cycle in which it lands. We will never ask for your payment details, your policy number, or any document we do not need to answer your question, and we will never call you unexpectedly. If you receive a message claiming to be from us that asks for money or sensitive data, it is not us β forward it to 18999737@qq.com so we can investigate.
